So. I’m not actually remembering the designer Laura Ashley. I’m remembering her clothes. I wore Laura Ashley almost exclusively in the 80′s. If I wasn’t wearing a Laura Ashley ensemble I was wearing an ensemble made from a Laura Ashley pattern. My college roommate, Kim, visited me this week. She had 3 [...] I received my first Little People Originals ‘baby’ in 1979. In 1982 a deal was struck with a major toy manufacturer to mass produce a toy version of the Little People Originals. We are spread out into 3 states but we chat online a lot. A. Lot. We met via an online book group. Our friendship began because of our passion for reading. It’s grown through the years. Where once we spoke of books and books, [...] Gloria was Mama’s best friend. Losing Gloria was very hard on Mama. It was hard on lots of people. Gloria touched the lives of so many people. I loved her very much. Gloria was an excellent cook. She gave me lots of cooking advice. She also gave me [...] I started really young bossing the men in my life around. I haven’t changed much. I couldn’t twirl. I wanted to twirl. Ballet was where I focused my athleticism. (The ONLY place I had an iota of athleticism. But let’s keep that between us, ok?) I watched the other girls twirl.
