I would like to report a robbery! Someone stole my éclair. It was last seen in a bakery box sitting in Mama’s refrigerator. It is light brown with a chocolate icing. Here’s a picture of it: Seriously, I had an éclair stolen from me. It was a case of theft by taking. My client, Jane, brought me an individually boxed [...] We call preserving food, Putting Food By. Don’t ask me why. I know not. Below is a snapshot of the results of those labors. (Yes. The honey was put by too.) I had some folks request my recipe for Pineapple Banana Pudding. Let me warn you, I made up this recipe. While my family seems to like it, you might just hate it. It hasn’t been tested outside my immediate family. Ingredients: For Father’s Day this year, I invited the family over to Mama’s house to celebrate. (Daddy won’t drive all the way to my house.) Or should I say, THIS Chocolate Feather Cake? Yep! This [...] Mama has a million raspberry bushes. Like. Seriously. She has too many raspberry bushes to count. Raspberries are in season right now. [...] Yesterday morning Mama made me a Southern Breakfast. It’s my favorite meal. Nothing is better than my mama’s Southern Breakfast. First she fried up sausage patties. Now. This sausage is super fresh. It was a gift from my cousins Becky and her husband Wesley. They just sent the hog to [...] My Aunt Bobbie and I were really close. She taught me a lot of things about life. She also taught me to make icebox pickles.
