Again With The Packing!

We sold the Atlanta house in May. Packed everything in it (which was a LOT) and moved it all to storage. Closed on our new house in June. Packed everything in storage and moved it to the new house. We then packed the things in our second home that we needed for our new home and moved it. I thought I was finished moving for the year.

I thought wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

I had planned to turn my second home into a rental home in January. Because who needs a second home that is one block from their main home, right? I’ve been using the second home as a guest cottage this summer and it’s really come in handy.

I planned to NOT pack again until after the new year. Events have interfered with my plans. Plans have changed.

I was at the local Mexican restaurant when I saw my pal Pepe. I THOUGHT Pepe’s English was pretty good. He seems to understand me. Mostly.

I told Pepe I had a rental property available and gave him my card. He said he would call me that night. No call. No biggie. I had forgotten all about Pepe. Yesterday, when I least expected it, my phone rang.

It was someone I had never met before but he wanted to see the property. Turns out he is Pepe’s supervisor from North Carolina and was acting as translator. Within a half an hour we hammered out a deal.

Since the first of the month is TOMORROW, Pepe and his roomies wanted to move in TOMORROW! TOMORROW! I immediately started packing. I worked until the wee hours of the morning.

Today we managed to pack up a three bedroom house and get it all either to our current house or storage. By 9:30 tonight, I thought my feet would fall off. My satisfaction from getting the job done on time made up for the pain of packing, AGAIN ALREADY!

  • Faster than you expected is not necessarily a bad thing. *g* With the upheaval in your life, I’m guessing this is good timing. : ) Congrats on getting the packing done at high speed. And let’s hope we’re both done with packing for a while!

  • Tomorrow Surely

    You rock, Meanie! So proud!

Charli: The timing was a BLESSING! I hope we both don’t have to pack again for another 12 months. Actually, I hope I never have to pack again. *crosses fingers*

Tammy: I DO rock! Sorry I missed your call. I was, uh, busy packing. *grin*
